Help Bilal Get the Surgery He Needs

He lost his job. Then an accident broke his elbow. Now surgery is waiting.

Bilal is a 46-year-old Yemeni refugee who has lived in Malaysia for six years. About a month ago he lost his job. Soon after, an accident left him with a broken left elbow and an injured left foot. He now needs surgery he cannot afford.

The story behind the campaign

Who is Bilal?

Bilal is a 46-year-old Yemeni refugee. He has lived in Malaysia for six years, far from his homeland and his relatives, working to build a decent life for himself and his family.

He lives with his family in Malaysia and also supports his parents in Yemen. He worked as a security guard at a residential complex on a monthly salary of no more than RM1,500. RM500 of that went on rent, and the rest was split between his basic needs and helping his family.

About a month ago, Bilal lost his job. With no income, the cost of living and his family responsibilities grew heavier every day.
