Altawasul Alinsani Malaysia Melancarkan Kempen Bantuan Kecemasan Segera untuk Mangsa Banjir di Al Hudaydah, Yaman

Altawasul Alinsani Malaysia today announced the launch of an urgent emergency relief campaign to aid 5,325 families affected by recent catastrophic floods in the Al Hudaydah Governorate of Yemen. The campaign, titled “Emergency Relief for People Affected by the Catastrophic Flood,” aims to provide immediate, life-saving assistance to displaced populations in the hard-hit districts of Hays and Al-Khokhah.

The recent floods have led to significant loss of life, widespread displacement, and the destruction of critical infrastructure and homes. The local capacity to respond to the disaster is overwhelmed, creating a dire humanitarian crisis where thousands are in urgent need of food, clean water, and shelter to survive.

“The situation on the ground is critical. We are witnessing an immense human tragedy where families, especially women and children, have lost everything overnight,” said Dr. Ali Saleh, Executive Manager of Altawasul Alinsani Malaysia. “Our immediate priority is to save lives and alleviate the suffering. We appeal to the compassion and generosity of the Malaysian people to stand in solidarity with the people of Yemen in their hour of greatest need.”

The one-month emergency intervention will focus on three core areas:

1. Distribution of Food: Providing essential food baskets containing staples like flour, rice, and cooking oil, alongside hot meals to address immediate hunger.
2. Provision of Shelter: Supplying emergency shelters, including tents, mattresses, and blankets, to protect displaced families from the elements.
3. Capacity Building: Strengthening the ability of local communities to respond to future disasters.
